"Rainbow Agate:
This agate is found in caves and veins in limestone and dolomites of
Pennsylvanian Age cropping out in bare ridges east of Laramie Peak,
one of the most famous landmarks on the Oregon Trail. It is thought
to be a steam deposit of white silica containing minute pores that
accept color. Legends suggest that each color had a special healing
capability. Red – painful thoughts removed; Blue – helps erase
anger; Green – helps problem solving; Violet – erases tension;
Orange – enhances positive thinking."
